What makes a strong community? Strong leadership—and a willingness to get involved.

That’s exactly what Leadership Chippewa Falls has been cultivating for more than 25 years.

Recently featured on our Local Cents podcast, Angela Kapp, Programs and Partnerships Director at the Chippewa Falls Chamber of Commerce, joined Pillar Bank’s Lori Davis, a program graduate, and Colin Danielson, a current program participant, to talk about the impact of this unique leadership experience. Since launching in 1999 (with its first graduating class in 2000), the program has grown to include more than 460 graduates representing a wide range of industries and organizations across the region.

What makes the program stand out is its deep dive into the real issues shaping Chippewa Falls. Participants don’t just learn leadership theory, they gain firsthand insight into local businesses, government, economic development, and community challenges.

Newer elements, like behind-the-scenes tours, bring these experiences to life — offering participants a closer look at how the community operates and where they can make a difference.

“The program offered a broader perspective and deeper connection to the community,” shared Lori. For Colin, currently in the program, it’s an opportunity to learn, grow, and build relationships with other emerging leaders.

The takeaway? Leadership isn’t just about a title — it’s about understanding your community and stepping up to serve it.
